Tobacco Education and Cessation Program

This program educates members in order to prevent the start of tobacco use as well as to help members quit using cigarettes, chew, and snuff. We can provide nicotine cessation kits (patches, gum, etc) to members who want help quitting.

The Washington State Tobacco QUITLINE is once again offering free help for all Washington adults who want to quit using tobacco. Funding cuts in 2011 eliminated free QUITLINE help for many people, including those without health insurance. New funding from the Washington State Legislature and Center for Disease Control and Prevention means the Department of Health can again provide help quitting to all adult tobacco users in the state.

Washington adults, regardless of insurance status, can call the toll-free Tobacco QUITLINE for support to quit using tobacco. The QUITLINE provides free counseling, a personal quit plan, a quit kit and referrals to local resources. Eligible callers can also get a supply of nicotine patches or gum.

Call the tobacco QUITLINE at 800-784-8669, or 877-2NO-FUME 877-266-3863 in Spanish.
