Upcoming Cultural Class Dates (Click the date on the calendar above for details):

June 26th: Samish Elders Luncheon:  Samish hosts Elders from tribes around the region for lunch and giveaways.

June 27th: 10am-3pm, Cultural Day: This year the Cultural Committee invites tribal members to join us at the RV Park to share more on Cultural Protocol in the morning and Sl’hal (Bone Game) in the afternoon. Lunch is provided.

June 28th: 9am-5pm, Fidalgo Bay Resort:  General Council Meeting:  Annual Meeting for Tribal Members with Tribal Council and Staff.

July 18th-19th: 9am, Beaver Lodge, Bentwood Box Class Please bring   any clamps, carving knives, and clear rulers marked with your name.

There is a limit of 8 people for this first class.Hope to see you learn the art of carving, steaming and bending a beautiful cedar box!

July 18th-19th: 10am-3pm, Cedar Work Class  Combines activities: Christmas ornaments and cedar rattles.  Carving rattles, other (shell?) rattles: (cultural instructions to go with this class).  Please RSVP at least one week          in advance.  Lunch will be a potluck.

July 18th3pm-8pm, Language Meeting

July 25th: 10:00am, Fidalgo Bay Resort 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk:  Skin cancer prevention 5k run and 1 mile walk. This is a free event to raise awareness of skin cancer prevention. All participants and volunteers receive a t-shirt, water bottle, pedometer, sunscreen, and outreach materials on skin cancer prevention. Flyer

July 29th-August 6th– Puyallup Youth Canoe Pull 2015 
“Traveling the Salish Sea from North to South”. Departs from Puyallup on July 29th, Birch Bay- July 30th-Nooksack (Start Date!), Lummi- July 31th, Samish- August 1st, Swinomish- August 2nd, Tulalip- August 3rd, Suquamish- August 4th, Golden Gardens- August 5th, Muckleshoot- August 6; Protocol, August 7- Fun and Games “Our shared goal is to empower our next generation of Canoe Society Leaders.”
