Description

The Security position will report to and work under the direct supervision of the RV Resort Manager, with overall responsibility of ensuring the safety and security of the Fidalgo Bay RV Resort guests, staff, and property. The position will patrol the Resort premises to assure that all applicable Resort rules and jurisdictional laws are followed.

Principle Duties
  1. Patrols premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, buildings, etc.
  2. Answers alarms and investigates disturbances
  3. Observes and monitors activity and traffic on premises to prevent unauthorized visitors
  4. Watches for irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contacts emergency responders such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel as required
  5. Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
  6. Informs and warns violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking in restricted areas, or carrying forbidden articles. Evicts unauthorized persons from premises (not apprehending or using force)
  7. Performs periodic checks of emergency lights, grounds lights, and street lights to ensure proper functioning; reports all malfunctioning as required
  8. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Must obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • Must possess knowledge of basic security and fire inspection procedures
  • Must be able to communicate and/or convey information verbally and in written form, in a clear, concise, accurate and professional manner
  • Must have skills in observing situations and making sound decisions
  • Must be effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers, supervisors, and guests
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 35lbs
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Long periods of standing and walking (60% of time); occasional bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, lifting, carrying, and pushing (20% of time); and occasional sitting (20% of time). Occasionally lifts/carries up to 35lbs. Must possess manual dexterity sufficient to use keys, walkie-talkie, and office equipment with frequent repetitive motion such as writing, typing, cash-handling, and phone use. Must possess the ability to view print on a computer screen and/or paper document; the ability to speak and hear exchanging information with end users by telephone 
  • Mental/Visual Demands: Frequent mental and/or visual attention to task is required. Ability to think clearly and make sound decisions under pressure. Must be able to see clearly both during daylight hours and nighttime hours. Tasks involve eye-hand coordination.
  • Working Environment: Frequently working outside in various weather condition. Work environment varies on a daily basis.
  • Unavoidable hazards/risks: Work is usually routine, but must be constantly alert for threats to themselves and the property. Random drug tests may be performed.
