Virtual General Council Meeting

Date
28 June, 2020, 10 AM-1:30 PM

Samish Tribal Council issued a Declaration of Tribal Emergency in response to COVID-19 on March 12, 2020, out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our citizens, employees, and community partners in the face of this pandemic. Tribal leadership has been closely following guidance issued by WA State Department of Health, and our regional health departments. Governor Inslee’s phased plan for recovery does not allow for gatherings of 50 or more until well past the end of June, and Tribal Council and Senior staff concur the annual General Council meeting set for June 28th occurs too soon to take place in person this year. The Tribe instead plans to offer a Virtual General Council meeting online, voting age (18 by June 28th) citizen participants will be muted but will be able to view the presentations, and submit questions in advance of the meeting for Council to respond to at the end of the meeting, submit by June 17th for consideration during the Q&A portion of the agenda on June 28th.
