The descendants of Ko-kwal-alwoot invite all to a Samish cultural gathering. This is a citizen organized event.
Place: Rosario Beach picnic shelter, Deception Pass State Park
This gathering is for ALL Samish and their families. The story of Ko-kwal-alwoot is a story of sacrifice and giving, and is important to the way we understand ourselves as a people. We should all feel comfortable acknowledging her. It is important that we keep our culture by taking part in events like this.
Nobody is excluded. Bring your shawl, skirts, clappers, drums and rattles. I will bring some extra shawls and skirts.
