Description

The cashier will provide excellent customer service to guests while operating the register and assisting in store activities. The cashier will also assist in stocking shelves, maintaining the store appearance and cleanliness, and other duties as assigned.

Principle Duties

The cashier’s work area is the register area and retail area while the Manager and the Assistant Manager are away or busy with other duties. The Supervisor/Lead will also ensure that all cash handling procedures are being followed while participating in and observing the register area. Maintain security and controls of the register at all times.

Ensuring that all policies and procedures are always followed.  Identifies and resolves challenges that occur on shift in a timely and professional manner.

Required Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Rudimentary knowledge of cash register systems

**Obtaining full COVID-19 vaccination, including booster, no later than 60 days from the hire date will be a condition of employment for all Samcor employees**

Working Conditions

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry 40lbs; able to stand (90% of time), sit (10% of time), as well as frequently stoop, squat, lift, kneel, bend, and reach (30% of time); possess manual dexterity sufficient to use hand writing materials, computers, and office equipment to prepare reports and documentation; be physically able to move through building. Mental/Visual Demands: Tasks involve eye-hand coordination; cash handling. Working Environment: mainly indoors with heat and some air conditioning. Must be able to move around for the majority of shift. Unavoidable hazards/risks: Possibility of exposure to blood and bodily fluids; possibility of exposure to communicable diseases. Protective clothing or equipment may be required (goggles, gloves, masks, boots, etc.)
